Windows Keyboard Shortcuts

Alt-tab             Utilized to switch between applications.

Ctrl-tab                        Utilized to switch between windows within an application.

Ctrl-C                          Copy.

Ctrl-Insert                   Copy.

(Enter) Can also be used to copy when capturing the output of any DOS command. Simply highlight the contents of the window you wish copy and hit ‘enter’ (Windows 2000).

Ctrl-V                          Paste.

Shift-Insert                  Paste.

Ctrl-X                          Cut.

Ctrl-A                          Select All.

Ctrl-Z                          Undo a command

Ctrl-Y                          Undo the last undo command

Tab                              Used to advance to the next field.

Shift-tab                      Return to previous field.

Alt-F4                         Close window.

Ctrl-F4            Close window within an application.

ÿ-M                             Minimizes all windows.

ÿ-F                               Find.

ÿ-E                              Launch Windows Explorer.

ÿ-Pause/Break System Properties.

ÿ-R                              Run.

ÿ                                  Brings up windows start menu.

Ctrl-Esc                       Brings up windows start menu.

F1                                Help.

F5                                Refresh in any application

Ctrl-R                          Refresh in many applications.

SHIFT+right click       Displays a shortcut menu containing alternative commands

SHIFT+double click   Runs the alternate default command

SHIFT+F10    Opens a shortcut menu for the selected item (this is the same as right-clicking an object

ALT+double click       Displays properties

SHIFT+DELETE       Deletes an item immediately without placing it in the Recycle Bin

Copy all contents of all fields onto the clipboard.      <Ctrl>A

Copy the selection onto the clipboard.           <Ctrl>C

Open the Open dialog box to open forms, guides, and applications. <Ctrl>O

Open the Print dialog box where you can print the current window. <Ctrl>P

Open the Find Forms dialog box.       <Ctrl>F

Fill the fields of the form with default information.  <Ctrl>U

Close the current window.      <Ctrl>F4

Close all windows.      <Ctrl>W

Cut the selection, and copy it to the clipboard.          <Ctrl>X

Paste contents from the clipboard to the current location.     <Ctrl>V

Reverse (undo) the last action in a character or diary field.   <Ctrl>Z

Close a dialog box without saving changes.   Esc

Open context-sensitive help.   F1

Invoke What’s This? Help.      Shift+F1

Switch the Details pane to New mode.          F2

Switch the Details pane to Search mode.       F3

Refresh the search.      F5

Switch focus between the Results and the Details pane.       F6

Select the previous request in the results list. <Ctrl>Page Up

Select the next request in the results list.        <Ctrl>Page Down

In New or Modify mode, save changes to the request. In Search mode, perform the search.           <Ctrl>Enter

Navigate through forms.         <Ctrl>Tab

To        Press

Open the Run Macro dialog box where you can select and run a macro.      <Ctrl>I

Open the Print dialog box where you can print the report.    <Ctrl>P

Open the Save Report Style As dialog box where you can save the report definition to file.           Alt+S

Delete the currently selected report style.      Delete

Open context-sensitive help.   F1

Open context-sensitive help.   Shift+F1

Close the report window.       <Ctrl>F4

Open the Properties dialog box for the selected report.         Enter

Ctrl-B  Organize Favorites

Ctrl-E  Brings up search window

Ctrl-I   Brings up favorites

Ctrl-L  Open location within Internet Explorer

Ctrl-O  Open location within Internet Explorer

Ctrl-N  New window within Internet Explorer

Ctrl-F  Find within Internet Explorer

Ctrl-W Closes Internet Explorer Window

Ctrl-Home       Go to top of page within Internet Explorer

Ctrl-End          Go to end of page within Internet Explorer

Ctrl-H  History

Alt-Left Arrow           Go back within Internet Explorer

Alt-Right Arrow         Go forward within Internet Explorer

Backspace Key           Go back within Internet Explorer

F5        Refresh Internet Explorer
